Mac—the School, BCCI
I will soon be coming back to the US for Christmas break (arrive the week of December 10). This will mark four months in Thailand at Bangkok Chicago Christian International School (BCCI). I am still amazed that I am (we are) here. I absolutely loved working at Timothy Christian and did not think I would leave.
And yet, here I am on the other side of the planet. Looking back, I can clearly see God’s hand guiding me to BCCI. And after being here, I am so thankful for this opportunity. Of course there have been difficulties, like all schools. But in this short time, I feel completely integrated into the school community. People have accepted me with open arms. From the teachers I work with, to the students of all ages that I interact with on a daily basis, to the parents I have met, together we are a part of God’s gracious work at BCCI. And…the weather is “summer” everyday 😀.

Trees—my favorite park
I have found my favorite part of God’s creation in downtown Bangkok: Benchakitti Forest Park. Located between two more popular parks, this one is “the road less traveled”. But it is the one with plentiful nature walks. Last weekend, in busy Bangkok, there were times that I was alone for 15 minutes just wondering the boardwalks, meandering through fresh water “swamp forest”.

40–the Church
The Church. We can easily grow accustomed to the remarkable. For instance, Jesus Christ is the head of the church. We know this. But how often do we stop to reflect on how amazing it is? The church has spread around the globe with Jesus as the head of the church. No group of people could plan or organize this. It is the work of God! So now the question is: how does the Spirit-directed global church affect our lives?
Our connection is real. The care is genuine. Jeanne and I have been so blessed by the church.
The Chinese church that meets at BCCI has called me to be their pastor (in a part-time capacity). I see them as my brothers and sisters in the faith. And these are not just words. Our connection is real. The care is genuine. Jeanne and I have been so blessed by the church. Our unity is Jesus has important real life consequences. May you contribute to and be blessed by the amazing, miraculous Body of Christ—the Church!
